How long and how often are therapy sessions?

Psychotherapy sessions are typically 45 minutes long. On a case-by-case basis, longer intensive services are available.

Do you see clients in person, or via telehealth? What are your hours?

Psychotherapy services are available both through virtual sessions and in-person in Washington DC.

Our general hours are:

Tuesdays
8am - 5pm in person

Wednesday
8am - 5pm virtual

Thursdays
8am - 5pm in person

Fridays
8am - 5pm in person

Saturdays: Closed
Sundays: Closed

Do you take insurance?

KGO Psychology is an out-of-network provider, which means we do not take insurance directly. Many of our clients use their out-of-network insurance benefits to receive reimbursement for their sessions. KGO Psychology provides a monthly “Superbill” for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. These "Superbills" contain all of the diagnosis and procedure codes for insurance companies to reimburse you directly. 

Check with your insurance provider about your out-of-network coverage and specifically about individual psychotherapy procedure codes 90791, 90834, 90837 or couples therapy procedure codes 90847. 

KGO Psychology is happy to help support you in this process.

What is your cancellation policy?

KGO Psychology cancellation policy requires 48 hours’ notice in advance to avoid the session fee. If we can find another time to meet in the same calendar week, KGO Psychology will not charge the fee. We will make a good faith effort to honor scheduling requests.

I am an existing client of KGO Psychology, how can I make changes to my account or send a secure message?

I don't live in Washington DC. Can I work with KGO Psychology?

KGO Psychology is able to see clients in 42 states, thanks to special certification from PsyPACT (Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact). PsyPACT is an agreement that allows licensed psychologists to practice telepsychology across state lines in participating states (see below for a list). What this means for you is that if you move or travel often for work, you can do so without a disruption to your care. This also means that you can rest assured that KGO Psychology meets rigorous standards set forth by PsyPACT and Washington DC.
